Looks like Blackwater/Xe is in trouble for violating a variety of Federal gun laws. I can sympathize, as these restrictive laws must make it hard for them to adequately arm their employees in a cost-effective manner, but the law is the law. The galling part of this story is that they apparently got all buddy-buddy with local sheriffs in the hopes of evading the laws. As Sebastian notes, “the proper course of action is to lobby Congress to change the law, not to break it and hope for the best.”
Indeed. Getting some corporate muscle behind the growing second amandment movement would be a real shot in the arm, and even liberals would have to agree that lobbying sure as heck beats corruption and law-breaking.
