BradyWatch: what’s up with the reporting on their own failures?

I don’t get it. For several days now, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership Violence has been putting up blog posts reporting the passage of pro-gun legislation that are remarkably short on editorializing or donation soliciting. Here, and here, for example. I can’t see what purpose this serves. I mean, when the NRA reports on new anti-gun laws, they do it in the context of “donate more and we’ll make sure this never happens again!” But the Bradies aren’t soliciting anything at all. It’s almost as if they’re just trying to embitter themselves by wallowing in their failures, admitting that they’ve failed but declaring that their will can never be broken. The posts ooze with spite, as if to say “You may have beaten us, but you’ll never make us admit we’re wrong!”
